David Hovda
President and Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Hovda has nearly 20 years of experience in the medical device industry. Prior to joining SpinalMotion, he served as Vice President and Managing Director of the Spine and ENT divisions of ArthroCare, where he was responsible for the commercialization of numerous products and two business units. He also worked at Medtronic in corporate development and the corporate ventures group. Mr. Hovda served as a Lieutenant in the United States Navy and completed two tours of duty. He received an M.B.A. from Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration and a B.S. from Northwestern University. He is an inventor on over thirty medical device patents.

Joyce Maga
VP Regulatory and Clinical Affairs

Ms. Maga has nearly 20 years of clinical research experience, as well as regulatory and nursing experience. Prior to joining SpinalMotion, she served as the Director of Clinical Affairs at Link Spine, where she was responsible for clinical evaluation and PMA approval of the Charité® artificial disc, which was acquired by DePuy Spine (Johnson & Johnson). Ms. Maga also provided regulatory training to clinical team members there. She held project management positions at Quintiles, served as an FDA reviewer, and worked as a critical cardiac care nurse. She received a B.S. in Biochemistry from the University of Maryland.

Cindy Lynch
VP Intellectual Property

Ms. Lynch has been in the intellectual property field for 20 years. Prior to joining SpinalMotion, she served as Vice President of Intellectual Property for Conor Medsystems through the company's IPO and acquisition by Johnson & Johnson. Her responsibilities at Conor Medsystems involved IP strategy for the company throughout its development lifecycle including patent litigation in five countries. Ms. Lynch was partner at the IP law firm Burns, Doane, Swecker & Mathis LLP. She also worked as an Examiner at the United States Patent and Trademark Office. She received a J.D. from George Mason University School of Law and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Tufts University.

Susan Parsons
Sr. Director Clinical Affairs

Ms. Parsons has over 20 years of experience managing and supporting clinical trials. Prior to joining SpinalMotion she served as a project manager at Link Spine where she helped manage clinical investigations of spinal implants. Ms. Parsons was a registered nurse for over fifteen years. She received a Nursing Degree from Providence School of Nursing.

Sherita Hall
Director Clinical Monitoring

Ms. Hall has 11 years of experience in clinical monitoring and research. Prior to joining SpinalMotion, she served as a project manager at Baxter Healthcare Corporation where she helped manage research teams and organize clinical studies. She received a B.A. from American University, College of Arts and Sciences.

Bryan Barr
Sr. Director Operations and Quality Assurance

Mr. Barr has 20 years of experience in quality assurance, operations and research and development. Prior to joining SpinalMotion, he served in a variety of management positions for ArthroCare, Parallax Medical, and Norian. Mr. Barr also served as a materials scientist for Parallax Medical and Norian. He holds 17 patents and received his M.S. in Materials Science and Engineering from UCLA.

Yves Arramon, Ph.D.
Director Research and Development

Dr. Arramon has 10 years of experience designing spinal implants, vertebral compression fracture systems, and minimally invasive devices. He is a published author in the field of bone mechanics and bone remodeling. Prior to joining SpinalMotion, he served as Director, Product Development at Calcitec and Senior R&D Engineer at ArthroCare, and R&D engineer at Parallax Medical. Dr. Arramon holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the City University of New York and has 17 patents pending and 1 issued in his name.

Brian Polonet
VP Sales

Mr. Polonet has 20 years of sales and sales management experience in the medical device industry. He previously served as Director of Surgical Affairs for SpinalMotion during the clinical trial enrollment phase. Prior to rejoining SpinalMotion he served as Western Regional Sales Manager for Peak Surgical which was acquired by Medtronic. Mr. Polonet received his Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Austin College.
