Domagoj Coric M.D.
Domagoj Coric, M.D. is the Chief of Neurosurgery and Medical Director of the Neurosurgical Intensive Care Unit at Carolinas Medical Center. He earned his medical degree from Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. He completed his surgical and neurological surgery internships at his alma mater.
Dr. Coric is a member of a number of professional organizations, many where he holds executive positions. Throughout his career he has been heavily involved in research and has published a number of papers.
Richard Guyer M.D.
Richard Guyer, M.D. is the Co-founder of the Texas Back Institute and Director of their Spine Fellowship Program. Dr. Guyer earned his Medical Degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. He completed his internship at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, TX and continued with his residency program in Orthopedic Surgery at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Guyer then completed two spine fellowships in Ohio and California.
Dr. Guyer holds many honors including founder of the Texas Back Institute Research Foundation and chairman of the Board for the program. Dr. Guyer received the Best Doctor Award from D Magazine, is past president of the North American Spine Society and winner of the Volvo Award for Low Back Pain Research.
Carl Lauryssen M.D.
Carl Lauryssen, M.D. is the co-director of spine research and development at Olympia Medical Center. He went to medical school at the University of Cape Town, South Africa, followed by a neurosurgical residency at University of Calgary, Alberta. Dr. Lauryssen completed a spinal neurosurgical surgery fellowship at the University of Alabama.
For seven years he was on faculty at Washington University and he directed the advanced neurosurgical spine program at Barnes-Jewish Hospital. Dr. Lauryssen is a two-time recipient of the Young Investigator Award from the American Association of Neurological Surgeons. In addition to writing medical publications, Carl Lauryssen, M.D., has a number of patents and inventions used in spinal surgeries.
David Musante M.D.
David Musante, M.D. practices at Triangle Orthopaedic Associates, P.A. in Raleigh-Durham, NC. He is a graduate of the University of Virginia School of Medicine in Charlottesville, Virginia. He has residency training in Neurological Surgery at the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington and Orthopaedic Surgery at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, North Carolina. He has Fellowship Training in Spinal Surgery at the Texas Back Institute in Plano, Texas.
Dr. Musante is Director of Clinical Research at Triangle Orthopaedic Associates and practices at Durham Regional Hospital, North Caroline Specialty Hospital, Person Memorial Hospital, Granville Medical Center and Lincoln Community Health Center. He is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and is a member of number of professional societies.
Pierce Nunley M.D.
Pierce Nunley, M.D. is the Director of the Spine Institute of Louisiana. He received his medical degree from the University of Kansas Medical College and completed his internship and residency at LSU Health Science Center. Dr. Nunley has been a clinical instructor since 1999 and an Assistant Professor in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery since 2006 at LSU Health Science Center.
Dr. Nunley completed spine fellowships at the University of Basel in Switzerland in 1996and Dallas Spine Group in 1997. He is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American Board of Spine Surgery. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. In addition to his numerous professional associations Dr. Nunley has been published in various journals and books.
